Embrace Greenery: The Key to Sustainable Development

As the temperatures soar during the scorching summer months, the importance of increasing green cover becomes more evident than ever. Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav emphasized this need during his participation in the campaign to plant 51 lakh saplings in Indore.

In his address, Yadav highlighted how humans have prioritized building concrete cities over preserving greenery in their pursuit of development. The consequences of this shortsighted approach are becoming increasingly evident, with temperatures rising to extreme levels across the country.

The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, launched on World Environment Day by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to instill a sense of respect for Mother Earth. Under this initiative, Indore is set to plant 51 lakh saplings by July 14.

Yadav, accompanied by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, planted a sapling at the Border Security Force (BSF) campus in the Bijasan area as part of the “Apne Indore Ke Liye, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. The chief minister expressed his desire for Indore to not only maintain its status as the cleanest city in the country but also become a benchmark for green cities.

With a plan to plant 5.50 crore saplings in the state and 51 lakh in Indore alone, the focus on increasing green cover is a crucial step towards ensuring a sustainable future. Let’s join hands and embrace greenery to pave the way for a greener, healthier planet!
