As Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a lengthy two-hour speech in the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel commented that Rahul Gandhi’s criticisms were hitting the mark. PM Modi’s speech, in response to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address, included jabs at Rahul Gandhi and discussions on the Emergency and NEET Exam issues.
“Hindu religion promotes non-violence, yet PM Modi continues to spread falsehoods. After listening to PM Modi’s speech today, it seems like he has lost his way,” Baghel remarked.
Congress leader Supriya Shrinate pointed out PM Modi’s decision to continue his speech despite reports of the tragic Hathras stampede, which claimed 107 lives. She expressed disappointment, saying, “I had hoped that the PM would have been informed and shortened his 2-hour and 14-minute speech, but he chose not to.”
Congress Amethi MP KL Sharma criticized PM Modi’s speech, stating, “It was just a regurgitation of old points. He failed to address any of the issues raised by Congress.”
Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, a Congress ally, highlighted the government’s lack of clarity on doubling farmers’ income, stating, “The Prime Minister failed to address crucial points in his speech today… there is no concrete stance on increasing farmers’ income.”
Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal criticized PM Modi for focusing excessively on Rahul Gandhi during his speech, rather than addressing issues affecting the country. She expressed concern that the nation’s pressing concerns, such as unemployment, farmer distress, and inflation, were sidelined in favor of political rhetoric.
Congress MP Manish Tewari added to the criticism, stating, “The Prime Minister failed to address significant issues like China, the recent terror attacks in Jammu, and flaws in criminal law implementation. His speech lacked substance.”
