Outrage in Kolkata as Doctor’s Rape-Murder Case Unfolds
In the wake of the shocking rape and murder of a young post-graduate intern doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to resign. The incident has sparked a wave of anger and demands for justice.
During a press conference in Delhi, BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia denounced Mamata Banerjee as “Mamata the Destroyer,” holding her responsible for the heinous crime that ended the life of a dedicated young woman serving her community.
“She is a destroyer of the rule of law and a destroyer of evidence in this heinous crime,” Bhatia added, highlighting the need for accountability in the face of such a horrific act.
This is not the first time the BJP has criticized Mamata Banerjee and her party, Trinamool Congress (TMC), for failing to protect the safety and rights of women in West Bengal. The incident has exposed serious concerns about the state of governance in the region.
Union Minister JP Nadda also condemned the lack of action from the TMC-led government in West Bengal, accusing them of being anti-women, anti-youth, and anti-democracy. The failure to address such crimes reflects poorly on the leadership and administration.
“The Chief Minister has failed the people of the state, presiding over an administration which has looted with impunity,” he stated, highlighting the urgent need for a change in leadership and a commitment to justice.
The Supreme Court has taken cognizance of the case and will be hearing it on Tuesday, August 20. The nation awaits answers and swift action to ensure justice for the victim and accountability for the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
The tragic discovery of the doctor’s body at RG Kar Hospital has shocked the nation, leading to the arrest of Sanjay Roy, a suspected serial offender with a history of violence against women. The need for stricter laws and enforcement to protect women in society is more urgent than ever.
