The Indian Cricket Team Meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi
The champion Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, had a memorable meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi. The team arrived from Barbados, where they emerged victorious in the T20 World Cup, early in the morning.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video showcasing the interaction between PM Modi and the players. The footage captured the PM engaging in conversation with the team in a cordial atmosphere.
During the meeting, PM Modi exchanged words with the team members, although the specific details of their discussion were not disclosed in the video shared by the BCCI. The players, adorned in specially designed jerseys with “CHAMPIONS” emblazoned across the front, seemed cheerful and engaged in friendly banter with the Prime Minister.
Head coach Rahul Dravid sat to the left of PM Modi, while Rohit Sharma sat to his right. The players also took the opportunity to capture photographs with the Prime Minister, making the occasion even more memorable.
To mark the event, BCCI President Roger Binny and Secretary Jay Shah presented PM Modi with a personalized Team India jersey. The jersey featured the inscription “NAMO” and the number “1” in bold letters, adding a special touch to the significant moment.
Despite facing challenges due to a hurricane in Barbados, the Indian cricket team’s triumph in the T20 World Cup and their meeting with PM Modi served as a fitting end to their journey.
