Rahul Gandhi Claims ED Planning Raid Following ‘Chakravyuh’ Speech
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently made headlines by claiming that the Enforcement Directorate is planning to raid him following his impactful ‘Chakravyuh’ speech during the Budget 2024 discussion. As the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, Gandhi boldly stated that he would welcome the central probe agency with ‘chai and biscuits.’
In a post on social media platform X, Gandhi suggested that Home Minister Amit Shah, whom he referred to as ‘2 in 1,’ may not have appreciated his Chakravyuh speech, as ‘ED insiders’ informed him about a potential raid.
Earlier in Lok Sabha, Gandhi accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government of betraying the middle class with Budget 2024 announcements, creating an ‘atmosphere of fear’ across the nation.
Gandhi’s use of the Chakravyuh metaphor from the Mahabharata to critique the ruling party garnered attention. He likened the country’s situation to the deadly battle formation, emphasizing that the lotus symbol worn by PM Modi represents the Chakravyuh that entraps the nation.
Gandhi expressed disappointment that the budget did not dismantle the perceived Chakravyuh but instead bolstered big businesses, monopoly entities, and political monopolies, ultimately undermining democratic structures.
Despite facing criticism, Gandhi named influential figures contributing to the nation’s Chakravyuh, vowing to omit certain names under pressure from the speaker.
Gandhi elaborated on the three controlling powers behind the Chakravyuh affecting India, citing monopoly capital, political monopoly, and agencies like CBI and ED.
Following Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s presentation of Budget 2024, Gandhi criticized the government for favoring BJP allies and cronies, labeling it a ‘kursi bachao’ Budget.
Gandhi further highlighted allocations benefiting BJP allies in Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, raising concerns about the apparent bias in resource distribution.
