In a surprising turn of events, the INDIA bloc emerged victorious in the recent bypolls across seven states, securing 10 out of 13 seats. The ruling BJP-led coalition managed to clinch two seats, while an Independent candidate claimed the Rapauli seat in Bihar.
Expressing gratitude towards the voters, a senior politician tweeted in Hindi, “We bow before the public for the positive result of the assembly by-election. This victory reflects the rejection of arrogance and negative politics by the people, showcasing the declining credibility of Modi and Shah.”
The Congress made significant gains by winning two seats each in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while AAP candidate Mohinder Bhagat secured the sole seat in Punjab. The Trinamool Congress, led by Mamata Banerjee, swept the West Bengal bypolls.
The elections, held on Wednesday, saw intense competition for four seats in West Bengal, three in Himachal Pradesh, two in Uttarakhand, and one each in Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Tamil Nadu.
The Congress in Himachal Pradesh has bounced back from a setback earlier this year when six of its members defected to the BJP. Winning four bypoll seats, the party has now restored its original strength of 40 MLAs.
These results mark a significant shift in the political landscape, showcasing the changing dynamics in various states. With inputs from agencies, the bypolls have reshaped the current political scenario.
