Kishori Lal Sharma Supports Rahul Gandhi’s Stand Against Trolling
Recently, Congress leader and Member of Parliament from Amethi, Kishori Lal Sharma, came forward to back party MP Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on BJP leader Smriti Irani. In a tweet, Gandhi urged his supporters to stop using derogatory language against Irani, stating that humiliating and insulting people is a sign of weakness, not strength.
Sharma echoed Gandhi’s views, emphasizing that using such language goes against their values. He mentioned, “Politics mein koi haarta hai koi jeeta hai.. (Victories and losses are a part of life). It is not in our values to use such language against someone.”
“He is right. Rahul Gandhi stays within his limits. I relate to his statement… Victories and losses are a part of life. These are not our values to use such language against someone,” Sharma told ANI.
In a show of solidarity, Rahul Gandhi further tweeted, urging everyone to refrain from using derogatory language and being nasty towards any leader, including Smriti Irani. He reiterated that humiliating and insulting people indicates a lack of strength, not power.
Irani had faced severe trolling post her defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls, where she lost to Kishori Lal Sharma by a significant margin. Despite the loss, Irani gracefully thanked BJP party workers, supporters, and government authorities, stating her commitment to serving the people of Amethi.
In the past, Irani had defeated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, breaking the Congress stronghold in Amethi. However, in the recent elections, Gandhi emerged victorious from Rae Bareli and Wayanad, while his sister Priyanka Gandhi will be making her electoral debut from Wayanad.
The Lok Sabha elections were conducted in multiple phases from April 19 to June 1, culminating in a transformative outcome for various political leaders across the country.
