Kamala Harris Responds to Trump’s Remarks About Her Racial Identity
In a recent CNN interview, Kamala Harris addressed former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump’s comments on her racial identity. Dismissing his remarks as part of the “same old, tired playbook,” Harris swiftly moved on to the next question.
“Next question, please,” Harris stated during her first interview with CNN’s Dana Bash in Georgia since becoming the Democratic presidential candidate.
Trump had falsely claimed at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago that Harris, the first Black and Asian American vice president, had only emphasized her Indian heritage in the past. He questioned whether she was Indian or Black, stating, “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black.”
During the interview with CNN, Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, reaffirmed that the most crucial aspect of her policy perspective and decisions is that her values remain unchanged.
Emphasizing her commitment to serve as president for all Americans, Harris mentioned that if elected, she would include a Republican in her Cabinet, though she did not specify any particular individual.
