The political arena in Haryana is abuzz with news as BJP President JP Nadda recently appointed Mohan Lal Badoli, a prominent BJP MLA, as the party’s state president. This move comes at a crucial time as the ruling BJP in Haryana is gearing up for the Assembly polls scheduled to take place in October.
Badoli’s appointment as state president signifies a new chapter for the party in Haryana, replacing Chief Minister Nayab Saini who held the position following his elevation as head of the state government.
Having been in power in Haryana since 2014, the BJP faces growing competition from the Congress, which showed signs of strength in the recent Lok Sabha elections by securing five out of the state’s 10 parliamentary constituencies.
Despite being a sitting MLA, Badoli faced a setback in the Lok Sabha elections when he lost the Sonipat seat to his Congress rival in a closely contested battle.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and other senior BJP leaders in the state are optimistic about the party’s prospects, confidently stating that the ruling party will secure its government for the third consecutive term in Haryana.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah echoed this sentiment on June 29, declaring that the BJP will contest the upcoming Haryana assembly elections independently under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. With unwavering belief, he expressed confidence that the BJP will return to power in the state with a resounding majority for its third term in a row.
