Welcome to the Blog Post on Infosys Q1 FY 25 Results

Infosys, one of the leading IT companies, recently disclosed its financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25. The company showcased impressive growth, reporting a consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 6,368 crore for the period ending on June 30, 2024. This marked a 7.1% increase from the previous year’s corresponding quarter where the PAT stood at Rs 5,945 crore.

The revenue from operations for the quarter reached Rs 39,315 crore, reflecting a solid 3.6% growth compared to the same quarter in the prior financial year, which was at Rs 37,933 crore. However, there was a 20.1% sequential decline in the consolidated net profit when compared to the previous quarter’s figure of Rs 7,975 crore for the fiscal year 2024.

Despite this decline, Infosys demonstrated positive quarter-on-quarter performance with a 3.7% increase in revenue from the previous quarter, which stood at Rs 37,923 crore in the January-March quarter.

Looking ahead, Infosys provided guidance for the current financial year, expecting an operating margin of 20-22%. The company also raised its revenue growth forecast for the fiscal year 2025 to 3%-4%, up from the previous projection of 1%-3%.

Analysts, who were anticipating Infosys to maintain its prior revenue forecast, saw this as a positive move and a reflection of the overall demand for IT services. The results also indicate a promising outlook for the $254 billion sector, which has been recovering from a slowdown in demand post-pandemic.

In recent times, IT clients have been conservative with their spending on non-essential projects due to economic uncertainties and higher interest rates. However, analysts predict a shift in this behavior once the US Federal Reserve lowers interest rates and the outcome of the country’s election is determined.
