Revolutionizing Connectivity: Celkon Resolute Partners with ZTE to Manufacture WiFi 6 Routers in Tirupati Facility

In a groundbreaking move, Celkon Resolute, a joint venture between Hyderabad-based Celkon Group and Resolute Group, has joined forces with Chinese telecommunications giant ZTE Telecom to establish a state-of-the-art facility in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, for manufacturing WiFi 6 routers. With an expected operational start in August this year, the facility at Tirupati Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC-1) aims to create around 1,000 jobs initially.

The joint venture partners envision the facility to have the capacity to produce two lakh WiFi 6 routers per month, with plans for expansion to five lakh units monthly within a few months of operation to cater to global export markets. The collaboration signifies a significant milestone in integrating advanced solutions, starting with the introduction of WiFi 6 technology.

Welcoming the investment, Nara Lokesh, AP’s IT minister, expressed enthusiasm for ZTE’s foray into WiFi 6 router manufacturing in the region, hoping to see a broader range of products from ZTE’s global portfolio produced in AP. ZTE Telecom CEO Liu Chao highlighted the transformative potential of ZTE’s cutting-edge technologies in revolutionizing urban connectivity and enabling a more connected and efficient environment.

The introduction of WiFi 6 routers is poised to redefine global infrastructure, offering faster speeds, enhanced capacity, and reduced latency essential for various applications such as smart traffic management, energy efficiency, enhanced security systems, and improved public services.

Y Guru, Chairman & Managing Director of Celkon Group, shared plans to explore manufacturing other emerging tech products, including those leveraging IoT and AI technologies, at the Tirupati facility. Meanwhile, Resolute Group CMD Raminder Soin sees the addition of WiFi 6 router manufacturing as a strategic move to strengthen the group’s product portfolio, which includes mobiles, tablet PCs, televisions, and interactive flat panels.

The partnership between Celkon Resolute and ZTE Telecom signals a transformative journey towards advanced connectivity solutions, starting with the rollout of WiFi 6 technology.
