BJP Leader Anurag Thakur Hits Back at Akhilesh Yadav Amid Caste Controversy

Recently, BJP leader and former Union minister Anurag Thakur sparked controversy by sharing an old video of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. In the video, Yadav can be heard asking a mediaperson about his caste.

Thakur took to social media to share the video, captioning it with a dig at Yadav, “Jaati kaise pooch li, Akhilesh ji? [How did you ask about my caste Akhilesh ji?]” The tweet quickly gained traction and sparked a war of words between the two political leaders.

In response to Yadav’s comments on Thakur’s caste remark in the Lok Sabha, Thakur shared the video to highlight what he believed was hypocrisy on Yadav’s part. Yadav had mentioned incidents where he faced discrimination based on his caste and questioned the BJP’s intentions in asking about people’s castes.

The heated exchange continued as Thakur engaged in a verbal altercation with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lower House of the parliament. Gandhi stood firm in his stance, stating that despite Thakur’s insults, the issue of caste census would eventually be addressed in the Lok Sabha.

Despite the escalating tension and verbal sparring, the issue of caste and discrimination remains a sensitive and contentious topic in Indian politics.
