Recently, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule found herself chuckling in response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks labeling her party supremo Sharad Pawar as the “mastermind of corruption.” Sule, unphased by the accusations, pointed out the irony in Shah’s statement, highlighting that many individuals accused of corruption by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) now find themselves part of the very same party.
Sule quipped, “I chuckled upon hearing this because it was the Modi government, in which Amit Shah was also a member, that bestowed Sharad Pawar with the Padma Vibhushan award, not once, but twice.”
Speaking to ANI, Sule further elaborated, “During Amit Shah’s recent event, one couldn’t help but notice Ashok Chavan, the individual accused of the most corruption, seated in close proximity. Such instances reaffirm the fact that a significant fraction of those accused of corruption by the BJP now find themselves within the BJP fold, thanks to what I like to call the ‘washing machine’ effect.”
It’s quite ironic that my father was honored with the Padma Vibhushan by the Modi government, yet Amit Shah alleges corruption. BJP needs to decide who Sharad Pawar truly is.

Earlier during the day, at the BJP conclave in Pune, Amit Shah unleashed a scathing attack on Sharad Pawar, accusing him of “institutionalizing” corruption within the political landscape.
Shah boldly declared, “The epitome of corruption in Indian politics is Sharad Pawar, and I have no qualms in admitting that. What more accusations can they hurl at us? If there’s one individual who has normalized corruption, it’s Sharad Pawar, and now he points fingers at us?”
Furthermore, Shah criticized Pawar for allegedly thwarting Maratha reservation each time his party assumed power in the state. While making promises for the upcoming elections, Shah vowed to uphold Maratha reservation if given the opportunity to govern.
“Whenever BJP reigns in Maharashtra, the Maratha community is granted their rightful reservation. On the contrary, whenever the Pawar-led government takes charge, Maratha reservation mysteriously dissipates. It’s time for a change, and under the strong leadership of Modi Ji, we are dedicated to reinforcing and sustaining this crucial reservation,” Shah affirmed.
