Welcome to the exciting world of aviation with the launch of Air Kerala, a new low-cost airline that is set to revolutionize air travel in India. Founded by Dubai-based entrepreneurs Afi Ahmed and Ayub Kallada, Air Kerala has already received the initial no-objection certificate (NOC) from the ministry of civil aviation, marking a significant milestone in its journey.
Operating under the name Zettfly Aviation, Air Kerala has been granted permission to provide scheduled commuter air transport services for the next three years. This approval paves the way for Air Kerala to become Kerala’s first regional airline, connecting Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities with Tier 1 and metro airports.
As the airline gears up to start operations, the next step is to acquire aircraft and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to obtain the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC). Ayub Kallada emphasized the importance of meeting all safety and operational standards set by the aviation authorities during this critical phase.
Afi Ahmed echoed Kallada’s sentiments, expressing satisfaction with the progress made despite the challenges faced. He highlighted the dedication and hard work put in by the team to turn their dream of launching Air Kerala into a reality. The issuance of the NOC is a significant milestone, signaling the beginning of an exciting journey for the airline.
Initial plans for Air Kerala include starting operations with three ATR 72-600 aircraft, with a focus on expanding its fleet to 20 aircraft in the future. The airline aims to explore international routes once the fleet reaches the desired size, offering passengers a wide range of travel options and destinations.
With a vision to connect communities and provide affordable air travel options, Air Kerala is poised to make a mark in the aviation industry. Stay tuned as this innovative airline takes flight and opens up new opportunities for passengers across India and beyond.
